Where did those 3 weeks go?

Hang on a minute....where did those 3 weeks go??? It's now only 3 days and we head off to begin our 4 week Victorian tour.  I don't know where the time went but I certainly have packed anything yet (as usual - big panic on the last day).   This Saturday Derek will be surprising a little girl named Shelby at Glenning Valley at her 2 year birthday party.  Lots of fun to be had and I hear Shelby loves animals so it should be good.   On Sunday I will be performing a show for Harry a 4 year old from North Gosford and I plan to make his day a memorable one.  Onya Harry.   While I have fun with Harry, Derek will be performing 3 shows at Broke Fair on Sunday (all on his own) at 10am, 12noon and 2pm. Please go along and say g'day as he will be feeling lonely without me there to nag him...I mean talk to him.  If you have never been to Broke Fair before, it is a great country event with tons of entertaining, food and wi ...

Three busy weeks

We have 3 busy weeks ahead of us before we take to the road again with our tour of Victoria commencing on 12/9/2011.   Last Friday we did 2 shows at Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School at St Marys and what a beaut bunch of well behaved children they were.  We entertained Years 1 and 2 and they were such good groups of kids.  They were all very keen to have some fun and learn something about our reptiles.  Each show went a little over time because we were all having so much fun. Those kiddies are a credit to their teachers and carers and we would like to thank Emma-Kate for inviting us down to visit.   Last Saturday I performed a show for Callan, a 5 year old boy at Killarney Vale and Derek performed for Raven, a 5 year old girl from Umina Beach.  Both parties were lots of fun and hopefully lots of good photos were taken of the kiddies (and the adults) with our reptiles.   Next Thursday, the 1/9 ...

Home for 6 weeks

Back home from Queensland and all the reptiles are happy to be back in their ponds and enclosures.  Our trip was a great success and all the people we performed for want us back next year, not to mention all the cards we handed out to people interested in having us perform at their venue.   Our public show at Bunnings Hervey Bay was HUGE!!  We will definitely be returning to Queensland next year for an extended tour.   On our way home we managed to stop for a brief catch up with our good friends,  Sharon and Clint at McNevins Motel, Maryborough.  They have been working hard and it shows, the Motel is lovely and the gardens, etc look beautiful.  Gator said g'day to Bear, their HUGE puppy but when he started getting too cheeky we had to take him away from Bear.  (Bear comes up to my waist and could just sit on Gator to squash him but in Gator's eyes Bear is the same size as him.  Jack Russell's certainly have " ...

Tamworth and the Queensland leg of our tour

Its our last day in Tamworth City Plaza today and we have shows at 11am and 1pm. This is usually our biggest day so we are looking forward to meeting new friends and helping people to understand our wonderful reptiles.  Gator went to the shops yesterday and was a huge hit as usual. He stole the show and everyone wanted to take him home, although they wanted to take the crocs as well.  We met up with one of our lifetime friends, Melissa (Skippy was working) and their 2 little angels, Lindsay and Brianna. It was great to see them and the kids always love seeing our reptiles. Tomorrow we head off on the Queensland leg of our tour with an overnight stop at my brother's place.  Don't know if he realises just how many reptiles we have with us but...oh well, nothing like a nice surprise is there? For all those people waiting to see us at Bunnings in Hervey Bay on 23/7/2011 our show will start at 9.30am and afterwards we will be available for an hour ...

School Holidays....Yay!!!

We had a great day at Erina Fair for the Pet Expo on Monday 4th July, our audiences were HUGE which is always great to see.  Ned and Kelly were a huge hit, although so were all our reptiles really.  So much interest from the public is very encouraging, especially when they thank us for sharing our knowledge and helping them to understand the environment a little better...not to mention helping them to respect reptiles.   On Tuesday 5th July Karen appeared at Norah Head Holiday Park and Toowoon Bay Holiday Park and both shows went well.  When the first show looked like it was only going to have 3 little ones for an audience, people came from everywhere to fill the camp kitchen. The colouring in sheets were a big hit with the kids at both shows.   On the same day Derek appeared at Watanobbi Vacation Care and also at Gosford Showground in support of NAIDOC week.  We were extremely pleased to be asked to perform for this event and& ...
